Photo placeholder: Parker, founderHi, I'm Parker, founder of The Summer Stash.
I'm a Business Management and Entrepreneurship student at Colorado Mesa University. I started The Summer Stash after seeing how stressful moving out of the dorms can be. For many students, moving out means packing up an entire dorm room, finding enough vehicle space, getting help from family, and hauling everything home—only to bring it all back again a few months later.
I created The Summer Stash to make that process easier. We provide reusable storage bins, pick up your packed belongings, store them in a secure, climate-controlled facility over the summer, and return them when you come back for the fall semester.
As a CMU student myself, I wanted to build a service specifically around the needs of college students and make move-out one less thing to worry about.
Built by a student, for students.
The Summer Stash is an independent business. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Colorado Mesa University.
Quick answers.
Who is The Summer Stash for?
College students living on campus who need somewhere to keep their things over the summer.
What's included in the price?
Bin delivery, pickup, climate-controlled summer storage, security seals, and return in the fall.
How are my belongings kept secure?
Every bin is closed with a serialized, tamper-evident seal, and each seal has its own number, so you can tell if a bin has been opened. Bins are kept together in a secure facility until we return them in the fall.
Is the storage climate-controlled?
Yes. Your bins are kept in a climate-controlled facility, so your belongings are protected from summer heat and humidity.
How do pickup and return work?
We deliver your bins before move-out, and you pack and seal them. We then pick them up from your residence hall on a scheduled day. In the fall, we return them to your on-campus residence when you come back. Exact dates are confirmed with you ahead of time.
What if I need to cancel?
Sending an inquiry doesn't commit you to anything. Cancellation terms will be confirmed with you before you pay for any order.
What about oversized items?
Everything goes in our bins, except mini-fridges, microwaves, and TVs up to 45 inches, which we store on their own. For furniture or other large items, contact us and we'll tell you whether we can take them.
Can I store a mini-fridge, microwave, or TV?
Yes. Add them to any package, or store just one item. Mini-fridges must be empty, cleaned, and turned off for at least 24 hours before pickup, and microwaves must be cleaned. TVs must be 45 inches or smaller and arrive in protective wrap or a box.
Is fall delivery to campus included, and what is Off-Campus Fall Delivery?
Standard fall delivery back to CMU and other on-campus locations is already included in your storage price. If you're moving off campus, Off-Campus Fall Delivery is an optional add-on for $20 per order, not per bin, for addresses within 10 miles of Colorado Mesa University.
What if my new place is more than 10 miles away?
Contact us for availability and pricing.
